PROGRAMMER / DBA
Information Technology Services

Develop and maintain internal and client-facing systems. Understand technical and functional design requirements and assist in physical and logical database design. Create prototypes for internal testing. Design, code, and test technical solutions. Identify system deficiencies and recommend and implement solutions. Assist in the enforcement of development deadlines and schedules. Understand the necessity of and contribute to coding standards. Prioritize multiple tasks effectively. Perform other related duties as required.

Minimum of a high school diploma/GED with additional certification required. Must have at least five years of experience working as a relational database programmer/administrator. Strong familiarity with Massachusetts security laws required. Must understand advanced relational database concepts and demonstrate proficiency with physical and logical database design. Ability to write effective stored procedures required. Must possess demonstrated work experience with at least one relational database management system. Mastery of object and component methodology and technology and strong proficiencies in Java, C/C++, ASP.NET (C#), PHP, or Python required. Must be proficient in at least one other programming language, have the ability to create effective XSL stylesheets, and read, understand, and design XML schemas. Proficiency in HTML and CSS required. Must have strong JavaScript skills and a familiarity with AJAX, RESTful web service design, and other conventions. Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse educational, socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
