IMMIGRATION SERVICES COORDINATOR
Coordinate all aspects of the immigration program under the direction of the Operations Manager. Conduct intake process and screening and assist client with the immigration process. Identify support services and provide referrals as appropriate. Assist clients in applying for US citizenship, family petition, adjustment of status, renewal of green card, VAWA application, TPS, U-Visa, passport application, deferred action and fee waiver. Refer clients to internal Civics classes. Plan and facilitate immigration workshops and events. Train staff on immigration procedures and review any immigration paperwork completed by staff who are not BIA accredited or lawyers. Oversee the BIA application accreditation process at ABCD neighborhood sites. Perform other related duties as required.
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field, with one to three years of experience in human services field required. Law degree or BIA accredited preferred. Applicant must have experience working with immigrant populations and training in immigration law. Must be able to meet deadlines, handle confidential paperwork and complete immigration related forms. Bilingual in Spanish highly preferred. Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse educational, socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
