PROGRAM ASSISTANT - ESOL
Mattapan Family Service Center

Provide support to the center’s ESOL program and ensure that all administrative tasks are completed in an efficient and professional manner. Sort all correspondence accordingly and prepare outgoing mail including outreach materials. Direct incoming phone calls, inform clients of available services and direct them to the appropriate staff. Update the ESOL program waitlist. Schedule students for screening and intake sessions, assist with completing intake forms and enter activities into the computer databases (SMARTT and ClientTrack). Make reminder calls to students to ensure class attendance and prepare classroom space for instruction. Perform other related duties as required.

Minimum of a high school diploma/GED and up to twelve months of relevant experience required. Must have strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail. Computer, data entry and word processing/spreadsheet competency required. Bilingual skills a plus. Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse educational, socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.

Please note: this position is part-time for 12 hours per week and temporary through June 30, 2013. Continued employment is contingent upon receipt of additional funding.
