PROGRAM MANAGER - ABE
Mattapan Family Service Center
Assist in the overall coordination, administration, and educational leadership of the Mattapan Adult Education Literacy Partnership (MAELP), consisting of multiple Adult Basic Education (ABE) programs in Mattapan funded by the Department of Education. Direct the implementation of existing and new programs/services at the center. Provide supervision and curriculum development for instructors. Ensure program curriculum is aligned with the ABE/ESOL Curriculum Frameworks, and work to achieve established goals according to state guidelines. Oversee outcomes of learning gain, goal achievement, and workforce development activities for students in generating meaningful employment opportunities. Establish and maintain a data tracking process for ABE students and a referral system for linking students with other Department of Education ABE programs. Collaborate with resource centers, academic institutions, and business development agencies to enhance activities for students. Perform other related duties as required.
Proven ability in curriculum development, staff supervision and development, and strategic planning required. Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously without extensive supervision required. Must have excellent writing, public speaking, and fundraising skills, with the ability to review and interpret highly technical student data, write technical materials, and/or speak persuasively to implement desired actions. Proficient computer skills in database management, desktop publishing, and work processing required. Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Management, Human Services, or a related field required. Must have at least one to three years of experience in teaching. Strong math, reading, and English skills required. Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse educational, socio-economic, and cultural backgrounds.
