MATH AND SCIENCE REMEDIATION COORDINATOR
Education, Training, and Youth Services - University High School

Responsible for coordinating math and science remediation activities for ABCD’s youth programs. Work closely with mentors, tutors, instructors, and ABCD staff to implement and enhance math and/or science activities relating to various youth programs. Work directly with students on specific projects related to math and science remediation. Develop program structure to incorporate math and science remediation activities including mentoring and tutoring. Work closely with ABCD directors, instructors, and case managers to create and maintain case plans for students. Recruit math and science mentors and tutors from a variety of organizations and employer partners. Facilitate pre and post assessment of students to determine math and science remediation needs and progress. Gather and maintain all demographic data on students. Keep records as needed. Perform other related duties as required.

Experience coordinating projects and/or volunteer groups required. Must have knowledge of issues faced by students specifically related to math/science remediation. Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Science, Education, or a related field. At least one to three years of experience working with at-risk adolescents. Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse educational, socio-economic, and cultural backgrounds.

Please note: this position is temporary through June 30, 2011. Continued employment is contingent upon receipt of additional funding.
