PARENT INVOLVEMENT SPECIALIST
Head Start and Children's Services
Assist in the planning, implementation, and maintenance of parent involvement activities and records for all ABCD Head Start programs. Work with program staff to provide support, information, and feedback regarding compliance with federal, state, and ABCD regulations, standards, and policies. Produce a citywide newsletter with input from all Head Start Parent Involvement staff and Program Directors. Develop and implement necessary Parent Surveys. Assist the Parent Involvement Coordinator with monthly Policy Council meeting logistics. Collaborate in the development of parent involvement throughout all component areas such as Health Advisory, Education, and Mental Health. Organize and coordinate with other staff in the development of opportunities for male involvement activities, training, and input. Attend relevant conferences and meetings as needed. Perform other related duties as required.
Excellent organizational, writing, and interpersonal skills to collaborate well with staff. Bilingual skills relevant to targeted population preferred. Minimum of an Associate’s degree in Human Services, Social Services, or a related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred. At least one to three years of administrative experience in a human services agency. Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse educational, socio-economic, and cultural backgrounds.
