CAREER COACH
Education, Training, and Youth Services - Community Health Workers Inititiative (CHWI)

Provide a full range of career assessment, counseling, and referral services to Community Health Workers (CHWs) and act as a liaison to CHW employers. Design and refine appropriate assessment and career coaching tools. Conduct individual and group intake and assessment process focused on career development plans for CHWs. Analyze assessment results and help each CHW develop an individual written career plan. Coordinate outreach and recruitment to identify interested CHWs. Conduct individual and group trainings on career path related topics. Maintain accurate records and collect required demographic data, as well as prepare material for grant-required reports. Participate in the development and implementation of new strategies and programming to better serve CHWs. Perform other related duties as required.

Minimum of a high school diploma or GED required. Associate’s degree in Human Services, Education, Public Health or a related field preferred. At least three years of experience counseling, training, or pre-cepting required. Strong knowledge of the CHW field, career opportunities, and job market. Knowledge of career assessment and career decision-making tools and resources. Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills. Ability to multi-task, balance work projects, work independently with minimal direct supervision, and achieve established goals. Bilingual skills a plus. Must be comfortable working out of multiple locations and be able to travel throughout Boston by public transportation.

Please note: this position is temporary until September 30, 2010. Continued employment is contingent upon receipt of additional funding.
