DEPUTY DIRECTOR - HEALTH SERVICES
Health Services

Oversee the fiscal, administrative contracting, and day-to-day operational aspects of all service delivery programs in the Health Services department. Ensure program activities effectively meet departmental and funding source goals and objectives. Plan, implement, and monitor all grants and contracts for accountability and compliance. Plan and coordinate community needs assessments and a strategic planning process. Plan and implement competitive process for purchase of comprehensive family planning services and consultants. Maintain administrative system to purchase contraceptive supplies through existing programs and assure timely purchase and adequate inventory for delivery sites at all times. Develop and implement administrative system to assure timely staff performance appraisals and other personnel changes. Prepare monthly administrative status reports for the Health Services Director. Perform other related duties as required.

Demonstrated familiarity with administrative and fiscal operations of federal and/or state funded community-based human services programs. Extensive knowledge of Greater Boston’s health networks and neighborhoods. Proven ability to design, implement, monitor, and evaluate administrative and financial management systems. Knowledge of data processing and computer programs such as Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Access. Strong supervisory skills that include team management. Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Public Health, Business Management, or a related field required. Advanced degree preferred. Must have at least five years of increasingly responsible human services management experience. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with children and families of diverse educational, socio-economic, and cultural backgrounds.
