ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT II
Head Start and Children's Services
Oversee the day-to-day activities of a large and important organizational segment to ensure that established policies are being followed. Manage and implement the department’s clerical functions and general office procedures. Provide assistance to staff in completing assignments as necessary. Work closely with other departments concerning purchasing, personnel, payroll, and other administrative matters. Review and analyze the division’s operations and develop suggestions for improvement. Perform other related duties as required.
Experience in secretarial and office procedures required. Bilingual skills preferred. Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to supervise effectively. Minimum of a high school diploma or GED required. Completion of an accredited business or secretarial school preferred. Must have at least three to five years of relevant experience in a human services agency. Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse educational, socio-economic, and cultural backgrounds.
