HEALTH SERVICES MANAGER
Head Start and Children's Services
Ensure that the health services of the program are in compliance with health standards as determined by the Administration for Children and Families (ACF), Early Education and Care (EEC), Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH), and ABCD Head Start Health Services Manual of Standards and Procedures. Coordinate and evaluate comprehensive preventive health services according to prioritized needs for each Early Head Start, Head Start, and ABCD Partners/Delegate programs in her/his caseload. Assist the Health Coordinator in planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating a high-quality comprehensive health services component. Participate in program team meetings to identify new or recurring health needs of enrollees, monitor the implementation of individual health plans, and communicate the health and safety needs of enrollees, their families, and Head Start staff. Provide timely and accurate health-related advices and communication to EHS/HS, ABCD Partners’ families, policy groups, staff, communities, and the Health Coordinator. Delegate duties to Health Services Aides and provide written input to their annual evaluations as needed. Perform other related duties as required.
Demonstrated expertise of child and community health issues. Must have good communication and interpersonal skills. Competency in the use of computer hardware and software to effectively maintain health services records, communication, and professional health presentations required. Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related health field, or a Medical Doctor degree from a medical school listed in the International Medical Education Directory (IMED) required. A current RN license in Massachusetts or a higher academic or licensing credential highly preferred. Must have three or more years of working experience in health services at Head Start, early childhood, or other community health services. Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
