PURCHASING MANAGER
Purchasing Department

Responsible for the overall operation and performance of the Purchasing department and its effectiveness in setting and meeting goals and objectives. Provide leadership in maximizing program funds by vigorously performing outreach to prospective vendors and negotiating the best possible pricing, terms, and conditions for goods and services. Review and approve all purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and amendments to determine accuracy, completeness, and when appropriate, all supportive information such as contracts and bids. Interact with other managers and personnel to ensure Purchasing department performance as a support function. Manage an automated purchasing system, and ensure accurate data and proper controls in its establishment and ongoing utilization. Train and supervise purchasing staff. Perform other related duties as required.

Substantial purchasing management experience in a computerized purchasing environment required. Must have excellent negotiation and communication skills, with accuracy to figures. Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, or a related field required. Must have at least five to ten years of relevant experience. Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse educational, socio-economic, and cultural backgrounds.
