ADULT EDUCATION TEACHER
Mattapan Family Service Center

Provide individualized and group instructions to adults in Adult Basic Education (ABE), Adult Secondary Education (ASE), or English as a Second Language (ESOL) classes. Develop and maintain individual learning plans based on learner goals, needs, and assessment. Provide academic assessments, counseling, and referral services as needed. Coordinate and participate in staff and program development activities, including developing and implementing an individual Professional Development Plan. Perform other related duties as required.

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field required. Must have at least one to three years of previous teaching experience with adults and/or youth, preferably in ABE, ASE, or ESOL in a community-based setting. Proven experience with evaluation, assessment, and curriculum design and development required. Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.

Please note: this position is part-time for nineteen (19) hours per week and temporary until June 30, 2010. Continued employment is contingent upon receipt of additional funding.
